Leaving Mom and Dad

Jenny and I are leaving American Hospital . . . and, we're so happy!

We couldn't have had a better day with our Mom. She is now in her own private room. She has a door that can close. There is a couch for Dad to sleep on. There is wireless Internet in the room. (I'm leaving my computer with Dad so that he can continue to read your comments to Mom). We are a little bit jealous because the hospital room is about 10 steps better than the little European Hotel that we are staying in. But, we are thrilled. Mom has worked so hard. She has earned this.

As we leave we again thank God for you. Your prayers have been our encouragement day and night. Randy, I played Mom the song that you sang in an Octet at church last year. Yeah, I know, crazy, but I've got your song on my iPod. Proud brother. Randy, that song was such a ministry to Mom today. Who knew that when you sang and recorded that song that it would be played many times at a hospital in Istanbul. The truth of the words of that song have been an encourgement to Mom. Mom was enjoying listening to these words and looking at pictures of family on my computer.

As we leave Dad is sitting next to Mom's bed, reading an article from Reader's Digest to his wife of 45 years. He is so happy. It's fun watching him serve her in this way. He is happy to spend his evenings with Mom on an uncomfortable couch.

To God be all the glory and praise.

In His Love,

Brian

We are praising God for the improvments in both Bea's health and in now having a private room. You all will continue to be in our prayers but be assured of our extra prayers for Bea's total recovery and a quick return to the U.S.

Praise the Lord for answering our prayers. Bea is improving and is finally in a private room! We continue to pray for you daily and are now asking God to provide an appropriate passage for all of you to come home.
One of my sisters called me yesterday and asked "what's going on with your sister in law, Bea?" It seems that Elim Baptist Church has gotten the word out about your situation and are asking for prayer on your behalf. So, we know that many, many people are praying for Bea's healing and safe return home.
Thank you, Jenny, for your blog describing the "praise/prayer" time you had with your family in your mom's room. It was so precious.
Gordon, We have been praying for your health and well-being. This must be an exhausting time for you, physically as well as mentally.
Brian and Jenny - what a support you have been for your parents! Our prayers are with you also.
We will pray that Bea's health continues to improve and that you will have the strength to continue on until you return home.
If Bea is able to understand this, tell her we love her and are looking forward to seeing her either in St. Charles, Illinois or in Palm Desert, California soon!
Love and prayers,
Dick and Marijean

Auntie Bea,

The kids and I have been praying for you as have many people in my group at the Omaha Free Church. I've been keeping them all appraised of your progress and we are continually reminded of the power of prayer.

Wow! I have missed a few posts. Congratulations. God is indeed good. I started to write a really long post, but I decided rather than suck up half of the screen I would simply say that you are all an encouragement in the way you have held to your faith in Brian's reports.

It is a renewal to my faith to see such steadfastness. One can only hope and pray that your ministry to Bea is something that has effects on the people in the hospital and everyone else that has come into contact with you during your time there.

May God bless you and keep you all. Take care!

Mom,

We are so encouraged that you are doing much better. We can't wait to see you and pray you will be home by week's end. What a day or rejoicing that will be! The kids mentioned to us that they "want you home right now" as all of us do :) We love you and can't wait to give you a big hug!

God is faithful! What a witness you have been to the people of Instanbul as well as those of us back home. We pray for your continued recovery and for safe travels for all.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Blessings to all,

Dear Schulenburg Family,

I got word the other day about Bea being in the hospital in Istanbul. I go to Istanbul twice a year and if there is anything I do to help let me know.

May the Lord show you his grace and love in special ways while you are there. David Fogleboch

Dear Bea and Gordon,

WE REJOICE with the good news of a room (with a door on it even!) and a sofa for Gordon to sleep on and Bea's progress.

I have been so privileged all my life to have a dear sister, who has been a prayer warrior for me through the years and it has been a privilege to uphold you in prayer these days. I love you more than I can express, sister dear! I wish I could give you a big hug right now!

Gordon, we love you dearly and have been praying for you constantly as well. God has truly sustained you these days as well. What a wonderful husband my sister has! And we have a wonderful brother!

I was just looking at the picture of all of you taken last summer at Maranatha and praying for each of them, Jenny, Mark, Randy, Brian, Kevin, your dear daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren. What a precious family.

We love you all so much and can't wait for the news that Bea is released from the hospital and you are all headed home.

Philippians 1:6
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Our love and prayers,
Mar and Larry

Mom,

We are so happy you are doing better! God truly does answer prayers. You have shown us an example of being a prayer warrior and now we are prayer warriors for you.

We miss you and can't wait to have you home. We pray for you all the time.

Matthew says, "I hope you feel better. I hope you come out of the hospital soon. When you come back we are going to your house for a party. If you're still sick maybe we can do it when you're all better."

We really look forward to being with you at Maranatha this August. We will truly cherish our time with you.

Joy says, "We miss you. I can't wait to come to your house again and catch those frogs with you and see you again. We are really praying for you. And it looks like our prayers have come true! We all really, really miss you."

Dad, Jenny and Brian - THANK YOU so much for being there with mom. We miss you guys and love you! We can't wait to see you all again soon.

Wanted to let you know that Mittens has enjoyed eating while you have been away. =) He looks a lot fluffier than usual. The house is fine, the plants watered; it now needs you there to bring it life again. We look forward to that day and are praying it's soon. Love you so much.

I am so glad that things are looking up for everyone! Brian, the notes have been wonderfully enlightening and I am so glad you have been keeping us informed.

Gordon, I can visualize you reading to Bea and how you must be enjoying seeing her recover and respond so favorably.

I want to Praise God for his good works and for His healing power. I trust that you will be able to leave Turkey soon.
