I just got off the phone with my Mom and Dad and the news "couldn't be better." Mom's visit with the wound care doctor revealed that she will NOT need to have an amputation. She is going to heal. It will take time, (weeks, maybe months) but there is no blood poisoning. She will begin physical therapy tomorrow to help strengthen her muscles.
Thanks for your prayers.

Thanks for the updates. It sure helps to know how to pray. I so appreciate reconnecting with your family through this time, and am glad to have this news. My prayers will continue!

That's really good news! sounds like she's got a long road of recovery ahead, but God's been gracious!

It couldn't get any better than that.

Brian,
is your mom able to have visitors? or not yet? would we just call ahead of time?

Just an update to Brian's update:
Mom is doing better every day. God has completely and miraculously restored her mental health, and the deep, gaping wounds on her legs should be healed in a matter of a few months.
She is able to receive visitors, and this Sunday (August 26, 2007), she plans on being at First Baptist for the first time since before we left for Turkey two months ago! Praise God!
