Psalm 119:129 - "Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them."
Have you ever thought about God's law as being wonderful?
I've heard people say that they thought God's law was restrictive. I've listened to them try to rationalize away their sin by saying that God's law was old fashioned, outdated, or simply didn't apply for today. And, yes, I have heard people also talk about how wonderful God's law is.
It's usually people, who for years tried walking in the ways that the rationalizers talk about, who reach rock bottom and say how they wish they would have walked in the way of God. Walking in God's law is not an easy thing to do. It's a path that is describe in Scripture as being narrow and treacherous. The road looks tough, and carries with it a weight that makes those who choose to carry it look foolish in the world. But, the end of walking this road is eternity with God.
God's law doesn't save you. That's His Grace. But, His law protects you. Thank God for His protection today, and make it your desire to learn about and obey His law today.
Dear God,
Thank You for Your beautiful law. Help us to remember just how wonderful Your law really is. It protects us. It glorifies You. And, it is perfect. Help us to obey You.

Thanks for the reply...we'll probably come to Wooddale with Andy's family and be at the one your family will be at....which on is that? Then we can see Cyndi and the kids, too. Maybe we can treat you all to dinner someplace after church????? Aunt Marlene
