Psalm 119:120 - "My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws."
It must be a terrifying experience to find yourself in the very presence of God. I've read authors who use words like awe, fear, naked, vulnerable, scared, peace, and hope, to express what they feel that it might be like. David uses the words, My flesh trembles in fear of you. That's quite a picture, and it is an appropriate picture of a holy reverence for our God.
God is our friend, but He is also God. And, we ought to always be in awe of Him. So, today, take some time to think about what it is that gives you a sense of awe for God. And, think about what you would do if right now you found yourself in His presence.
Dear God,
You are holy, and You call us to be holy. We tremble when we think about being in Your presence, and yet, every moment of every day we are in your presence. Helpu us not to live our lives in a spiritual fog. Help us to be aware of your presence in our lives every at all times.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
