It's Time

Psalm 119:126 - "It is time for you to act, O LORD; your law is being broken."

In today's verse, the Psalmist declares to the Lord that it is time for God to act. He was frustrated by what he saw going on in the world around him. His enemies were acting with total disreguard for God and His law. But, God was not beholden to David. God will act when God will act. That's just the way that God is. We can ask. We can plead. We can beg. But, God works in His time.

Today is Christmas Eve. Now, we know that Jesus wasn't really born on December 25th. It was probably some time in the spring. But, Christmas is the time that we celebrate Christ's birth. As you think about how God works in His time, think about the time that He choose for Jesus to come to earth as God in the flesh.

God could have chosen any time for His Son to come. Why did He choose the time that He did? Christ's coming, His death, and His resurrection ushered in the new covenant. If you are a Gentile believer today, celebrate God's inclusive covenant this Christmas. You live in a unique time. The Kingdom of Heaven has been opened up to you. For 8,000 years God's covenant was reserved for a particular people group. Today, His grace is extended to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. God has placed you on this earth for such a time as this. He wants you to trust in Him. It's your time. Call out to Him.

Dear God,

Thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the new covenant that came through Jesus. Help us to not only know You, but to make You known to the world around us. Thank You for allowing us to live in these days. Now, may we please You with our lives. Take our lives as our gift to You. Use us as You wish.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
