Continual Awareness

Psalm 119:109 - "Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law."

He negotiated with world leaders. He led men into battle. He led a nation to the throne room of heaven with his bold worship that some saw as undignified. He was a hunter, who was often times the hunted. He was the King. And, his life was one incredible adventure.

In Psalm 119:109, David talked about his constant adventure. He was constantly taking his life in his hands. What David should have realized was that his life was completely in God's hands. And, maybe that's what he is trying to say here. Either way, David was aware of the fact that he had a responsibility as a follower of Yaweh to follow God, no matter what was happening around him.

Have you ever been at a spot in life where it seemed like your world was falling apart? Have you ever been at a spot where chaos was abundant? Have you ever been at a spot where you wondered how God would work in this situation? It's in those moments that it can be easy to forget about God's law and go with your own instincts. We need to continually rely upon God and His Word as we face life's trials. No matter what happens, be mindful of His presence and His desire for your life.

Dear God,

Life can get a bit chaotic at times. And, in those times it can be easy to doubt You, or forget about You. Help us not to make that mistake. Help us to live in daily awe of Your powerful presence in our lives. And, help us to live out Your desires.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
